Jaboticaba Tree

Also known as the Brazilian grape tree, this plant have numerous benefits, such as a potent antioxidant and anti-inflammatory, anti-aging, contains lots of protein, low in carbs, and high in calcium, iron, phosphorus, and very high in Vitamin C.

I have found many jaboticaba trees on Big Island Hawaii, and it is such a treat.

As you may know, powerful toxins build up in your body every day. Over time, pollution, alcohol, chemical substances, or even junk food can introduce elements called “free radicals” to your system. When they are left unchecked, they have the potential to cause disease and damage bodily tissues.

What are Free Radicals?

Free radicals are chemically unstable molecules that react harmfully with other compounds. Basically, they attack and steal the necessary electrons that other compounds need to gain molecular stability. If a free radical attacks a stable molecule and succeeds in stealing an electron, that molecule becomes one as well. Thus, there is a high potential for these chain reactions to result in the death of a living cell.

For the most part, free radicals are a part of everyday life, and normally they are nothing to worry about. In fact, our immune system actually uses them to fight viruses and bacteria. What we really need to worry about are the pollutions and other harmful toxins we experience everyday, which can cause these extra cells to damage our bodies.

This requires time devoted to detoxify your body for optimum health. Whether you have been partying hard or would simply like to energize your body for a healthier tomorrow, yoga can be a fantastic way to stimulate a regular cleansing routine.

Any type of exercise will help cleanse your body, but yoga is especially effective. Why? Because yoga provides a basis to immunize a natural build-up of lactic acid, while it encourages maximum blood flow, muscle flexibility, and joint health. A challenging yoga workout causes your metabolism to jump start.

Yoga Breathing

The proper breathing techniques you learn through yoga will be extremely beneficial as they help to increase your oxygen intake. This introduces more oxygen into the bloodstream to further flush toxins from your body.

In addition to yoga, consciously plan a diet to incorporate fewer chemically treated meat with more organic fruits and vegetables. Fruits and vegetables contain antioxidant chemicals to champion your body in the fight against toxicity — fruits such as jaboticaba.

Here is an easy breathing technique for you to enjoy:

Inhale deeply through your nose, hold your breath for 10-20 seconds and slowly exhale, repeat for one minute.
