I know this year will be a powerful and healthy year for us all. I spent my New Year’s on the beautiful island of Kauai at the Princeville Resort. My breath was taken away watching the sunset for the last time in 2019, with the most magical views, enjoying my gin and tonic at the Sunset terrace.

It’s amazing what happens when we open ourselves up to striking a casual conversation with strangers, they may hold the key to unstoppable opportunities.

I gently smiled and started chatting to world-renown golf course designer Robert Trent Jones Jr. I remember his name distinctly as I had to memorize his name as part of my training at Mauna Kea Realty and yes of coarse Mauna Kea Resort on Big Island Hawaii has a world-famous Robert Trent Jones golf course design.

Robert and my connection goes far beyond a casual conversation, we couldn’t stop talking about, living in the spirit and the journeys that has challenged us in our life, as if we were long lost friends that have finally found each other.

The next day, “New Years” day, Robert treated my two beautiful friends and I on an exclusive tour of the beautiful Prince golf course at Princeville in Kauai. Part of the golf course has been closed for two years. I have never in my life seen anything so beautiful, the design of the golf course complements the scenery of the lush island of Kauai. We sat at a beautiful sacred waterfall for hours, drinking wine, laughing, crying and sharing stories. I cannot imagine a more special way of spending my New Year’s day than with amazing friends and deep heart warming conversations.

I will never look at a golf course the same way again, understanding the lines and how Robert and his farther designed these incredible golf courses to match beauty of the mountains and eye catching scenery. My favorite story was hearing Robert’s journey of designing a golf course in Russia, wow.

My heart is rejoicing, knowing I have a new friend and the memories will last in my heart forever.

I would like to share my New Year’s resolution with you. I have a few and the one that stands out the most is, to laugh more and to truly be a better person, not only to myself, but to the people around me. We have one life to live and what are we going to do to live it to the fullest now.
